The client contacted Planning By Design regarding retrospective planning permission for the retention of a single-storey outbuilding within the rear garden and removal of internal boundary fencing to form a single garden serving. Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners it was determined that the project is feasible. As works were already completed, it would require retrospective planning permission.
One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared Planning, Design and Access Statement, to justify why the planning authority should grant retrospective planning permission.
With the client's approval, a retrospective planning application was submitted with the architect drawings and Planning, Design and Access Statement.
Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for the retention of a single-storey outbuilding within the rear garden and removal of internal boundary fencing to form a single garden serving. This means the client will not need to restore the property to its original state and is no longer at risk of enforcement action.
