The client contacted Planning By Design regarding the proposed external alterations to the rear of the property, comprising three elements: installation of a new external staircase to provide direct access to the first-floor flat, conversion of an existing first-floor rear window into a doorway and associated minor works.
Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the project is feasible and will require planning permission.
One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required Planning, Design and Access Statement, to justify why the council should approve the application. With the client's approval, the architect drawings, Planning, Design and Access Statement were submitted with a full planning application.
Planning permission has now been approved for the installation of a new external staircase, first-floor access door and associated minor works.
