Outbuilding
ApprovedRetrospective Planning Application

Garden Room and Replacement of Removed Tree-Retrospective

The client contacted Planning By Design regarding retrospective planning permission for the installation of an outbuilding at the site, and as a tree was removed contrary to the conditions set at the initial approval, a new tree is proposed as part of this application to mitigate the impacts of the previous loss.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the project is feasible. As works were already completed,  it would require retrospective planning permission.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared a Planning Statement, to justify why the planning authority should grant retrospective planning permission.

With the clients approval, a retrospective planning application was submitted with the architect drawings and Planning Statement.

Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for the installation of the outbuilding. This means the client will not need to demolish the outbuilding and is no longer at risk of enforcement action.
