External Rendering and Replacement Windows and Doors in a Conservation Area

The client approached Planning By Design to improve the appearance and weather resistance of their detached home through external rendering and replacement windows and doors.

Following a planning appraisal, our town planning team identified that the property’s location within a conservation area required careful consideration of the proposed materials and their impact on its character. A householder planning application was recommended.

Our architectural team prepared the required drawings, showing the proposed silicone render and replacement white uPVC windows and doors. The design retained the existing window and door openings, with clear glazing replacing the leaded diamond pattern and render specified to match the property’s existing finish.

Our town planning team prepared a Planning Statement explaining how the proposals would improve the building’s weather resistance while preserving its architectural character and the appearance of the conservation area.

Planning permission has now been approved.
