Two Air Source Heat Pumps, Roof Mounted Solar Panels, Wall Insulation and a Loft Conversion

The client contacted Planning By Design regarding works already carried illegally to a listed building including two air source heat pumps, roof mounted solar panels, wall insulation and a loft conversion. Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that retrospective planning permission and listed building consent were required. This was a serious breach of planning law with the potential for significant and costly consequences.  Fortunately it was determined that all components were feasible and no enforcement action had been commenced.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following the approved architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required design and access statement, to justify why the council should approve retrospective listed building consent and planning permission. Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for the previously installed air source heat pump.

Retrospective planning permission has also been approved for two air source heat pumps, roof mounted solar panels, wall insulation and a loft conversion. Thankfully this means the client will now not need to restore the property to its original state and is protected from enforcement action indefinitely.
