Solar Farm – Pre-Application

The client approached Planning By Design regarding a proposed solar farm - installation of solar photovoltaic panels (PVP) and auxiliary equipment on the land along with associated ancillary equipment. The proposed development is spread across two sites. Site one has an area of 0.58ha and it is proposed to site 451 solar panels in 13 separate rows. Site two has an area of 1.28ha and it is proposed to site 834 solar panels in 26 separate rows.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that although the project may be feasible, a formal pre-application was the best course of action. This would increase the likelihood of success, while also limiting risk and costs for the client.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings which the client approved. Following the approved design one of our chartered town planners has prepared the required pre-application statement to justify why the proposed solar farm is appropriate and should be approved.

With the clients approval a formal pre-application statement, with the architect drawings was submitted and the response has now been recieved.
