Retrospective Internal Alterations To Listed Building

Following contact from an enforcement officer for making unlawful changes to a listed building, the client contacted Planning By Design regarding a retrospective internal alterations. Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the retrospective alterations were feasible and require an urgent application for listed building consent, to prevent further enforcement action. One of our chartered architects prepared the necessary architect drawings, which the client approved. Following the approved architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required heritage statement, to justify why the council should approve the application. With the clients approval, everything has been submitted with a retrospective application for listed building consent for the various internal alterations. Retrospective listed building consent has now been approved for the internal alterations. Thankfully, this means the client will not be required to return the property to its original state and avoids an unlimited fine and/or a custodial sentence.
