Retrospective Garage Conversion into an Annex

The client approached Planning By Design regarding retrospective planning permission for a change of use of the approved garage/tool store to be used as an annex. During Covid times, the applicant needed extra living space/playroom for family and the approved garage was converted into residential space during 2020 and 2021.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that change of use of the approved garage into an annex was feasible but required planning permission via a household planning application.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following the approved architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required planning statement, to justify why the council should approve the application.

Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for a change of use of the approved garage/tool store to be used as an annex.
