Retrospective Change of Use to a Guesthouse

The client contacted Planning By Design regarding a retrospective change of use for a guesthouse, from class C3 to class C1. 

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners it was determined that it was feasible to secure retrospective planning permission. One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared a robust design and access statement, to justify why the planning authority should grant retrospective planning permission for the change of use to a guesthouse. With the clients approval a retrospective planning application was submitted with the architect drawings and planning statement. 

Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for the change of use to a guesthouse from class C3 to class C1. This means the client will not need to restore the property its original use and is no longer at risk of enforcement action.
