Retrospective Change of Use and Various Alterations

Following contact from an enforcement officer for breaching planning law, the client contacted Planning By Design regarding a retrospective change of use and various alterations. Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the retrospective change of use and alterations were feasible and require an urgent planning application and an application for listed building consent, to prevent further enforcement action. One of our chartered architects prepared the necessary architect drawings, which the client approved. Following the approved architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required planning statement and heritage statement, to justify why the council should approve the application. With the clients approval, everything has been submitted with a retrospective planning application for the a change of use and various alterations. Retrospective planning permission and listed building consent has now been approved for the change of use and alterations. Thankfully, the client will not be required to return the property to its original state and avoids an unlimited fine and/or a custodial sentence.
