Retrospective Change of Use and Design Alterations

The client contacted Planning By Design after receiving an enforcement notice for converting a shed into a clubhouse without planning permission, as they thought it would be permitted development. Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners it was determined that the project is feasible.  As works were already complete it would require retrospective planning permission for a change of use and design alterations. One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared a robust planning, design and access statement, to justify why the planing authority should grant retrospective planning permission. With the clients approval a retrospective planning application was submitted with the architect drawings and planning statement. Retrospective planning permission has has now been approved for the change of use from a shed to a club house and the design alterations. This means the client will not need to restore the property its original state or use and is no longer at risk of enforcement action.
