Retention of Boundary Treatments at the Property in AONB-Retrospective

The client contacted Planning By Design regarding retention of existing boundary treatments on the side of the property, after incorrectly assuming that it was permitted development. The Site is located within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the project is feasible and would require retrospective planning permission.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared Design and Access Statement, to justify why the planning authority should approve the application. With the client's approval, the retrospective planning application was been submitted with the drawings and Design and Access statement.

Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for the retention of existing boundary treatments. This means the client is no longer at risk of enforcement action.
