Rear Extension and Side Lean-Retrospective

The client contacted Planning By Design regarding assistance with securing retrospective planning permission for a rear extension and side lean. The client had initially been advised by their builders that planning permission was not required for the works. However, after completing the construction, they discovered that planning permission was indeed necessary.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners it was determined that the project is feasible. As works were already complete it would require retrospective planning permission.

One of our chartered architects produced the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required Planning Statement, to justify to the planning authority why the retrospective application should be approved.

With the client's approval, the architect drawings and Planning Statement were submitted.

The retrospective planning application for rear extension and side lean has now been approved, which means the client is protected from retrospective planning issues indefinitely and does not need to demolish the existing structure.
