Loft Conversion
ApprovedHouseholder Planning Application

Loft Conversion

The client approached Planning By Design regarding a proposed loft conversion that involves modification to the existing structure to create additional living space within the roof area. The changes include the introduction of a new dormer to the rear, allowing for increased head height and usable floor area, as well as the installation of a Velux roof light on the front elevation to provide natural light, together with a new small window proposed on the existing gable.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the project is feasible but will require planning permission via a householder planning application.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required drawings which the client approved. Following the approved design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the necessary Design and Access Statement, to justify why the council should approve planning permission. With the client's approval, the householder planning application was submitted together with the architect drawings and Design and Access Statement.

Planning permission has now been approved for a loft conversion.
