The client approached Planning By Design regarding a proposed garage conversion to create more incidental living space. Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that garage conversion is feasible and likely to be considered permitted development. A lawful development certificate was advised as this is the only way to obtain a legal determination that it is lawful and planning permission is not required. One of our chartered architects prepared the required drawings, which the client approved. Following the approved architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required design and access statement, to justify why the council should approve the application. A lawful development certificate has now been approved for the garage conversion.
