Garage Conversion into a Hairdressing Salon – Retrospective

The client contacted Planning By Design regarding retrospective planning permission for the conversion of the garage into a hairdressing salon. The conversion has been done already and client seeks to regularise this use. The hairdressing salon is run by client.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners it was determined that the project is feasible.  As works were already complete it would require retrospective planning permission for a change of use.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared a planning statement, to justify why the planning authority should grant retrospective planning permission.

With the clients approval a retrospective planning application was submitted with the architect drawings and planning statement.

Retrospective planning permission has now been approved for the conversion of the garage into a hairdressing salon. This means the client will not need to restore the garage its original state or use and is no longer at risk of enforcement action.
