The client approached Planning By Design regarding a proposed first floor rear extension. A key feature of the development is the reconfiguration of the roofing structure, which aims to substantially increase the internal volume. The roof will be reconfigured to resemble a mansard shape, designed to accommodate additional living space. Dormer windows introduced on the south elevation will increase the loft space to provide with additional habitable rooms. The overall roof height will be retained.
Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the extension is feasible and will require planning permission via submission of a householder planning application.
One of our chartered architects prepared the architect drawings, which the client approved. Following approval of the architectural design, one of our chartered town planners prepared the required Design and Access Statement, to justify why the council should approve planning permission for the proposed extension.
Planning Permission has now been approved for the first floor rear extension.
