The client approached Planning By Design to extend an existing dropped kerb, improving vehicle access to their driveway and garage.
Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the proposal was feasible but would require planning permission through a householder planning application.
One of our chartered architects prepared the required drawings, including existing and proposed plans, elevations, block plans and visibility splays. The proposed extension would align the dropped kerb with the existing entrance, making it easier for vehicles to enter and leave the driveway.
One of our chartered town planners then prepared a Planning Statement explaining why the proposal was acceptable, addressing highway safety, parking arrangements and the character of the surrounding area. The application was submitted to the local planning authority with the supporting drawings and statement.
Planning permission has now been granted for the extension of the existing dropped kerb.
