Dropped Kerb, Vehicle Crossover and Driveway

The client approached Planning By Design regarding the proposed creation of a dropped kerb and vehicle crossover, together with a new permeable hard-surfaced driveway and the removal of the existing front boundary wall.

Following a planning appraisal with one of our chartered town planners, it was determined that the proposal was feasible and could potentially be carried out under permitted development rights. An application for a Lawful Development Certificate was recommended to obtain formal confirmation from the local planning authority that planning permission was not required.

One of our chartered architects prepared the required architectural drawings, including the existing and proposed driveway plans, elevations, block plans and vehicle crossover plan, which the client approved.

Following approval of the design, one of our chartered town planners prepared a Planning Statement to demonstrate that the proposed hardstanding, vehicle access and removal of the boundary wall complied with the relevant permitted development criteria.

With the client’s approval, an application for a Lawful Development Certificate was submitted with the architectural drawings and Planning Statement.

The Lawful Development Certificate for the proposed driveway, vehicle crossover and removal of the boundary wall has now been approved.
